Alignment of blog info on Home Page

  1. Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could help me change the alignment of the "follow on twitter" and the bottom divider line, and the "Blog at WordPress..." text on the bottom on my homepage. I would like it to always appear on the bottom of the screen. In fact, I was hoping if anyone knew how I could remove that dividing line and text, but I am guessing it can't be removed, so I would be happy with a change of alignment.

    The blog I need help with is

  2. Welcome to the magic world of CSS, where most things are possible (but not everything is advisable). In your case, absolute positioning is your friend. The following code will move your credits and the Twitter link in your text widget to the bottom:

    .home #footer {
        border-top: none;
        position: absolute;
        bottom: 0;
    .home #text-2 {
        position: absolute;
        bottom: 0;
        margin-bottom: 15px;

    I prefaced both with the .home CSS class so that this will only affect the home page, which is I believe what you want.

    Now, the problem is that the links we put at the bottom are unreadable against the grass. Easy enough to fix as well:

    .home #footer a, .home #text-2 a {
        color: #eee;

    The only trouble with absolute CSS positioning is that it can create some problems at different layout sizes. Try it on different devices and screen sizes, brush up on some CSS Basics, and maybe tweak some more.

  3. Thanks you sir, I will give it a try. Do you mean different screen sizes may be a problem? Oh, and what color is #eee?

  4. This is excellent. And you did a great job on guessing all the things I wanted (white is perfect). Thank you very much for the hard work.

  5. #eee is a shorthand for #eeeeee and it's almost white. Pure white would be #fff and I thought it was a bit too bright.

    Glad I could help. :)
