Alternative Text not showing underneath pictures
For many of my pictures , the alternative text or description will not show. It only is working for one of my pictures but not for others (same format and everything) when I am doing exactly the same thing. Is this potentially a theme bug? I am using expound. If not, how to get this to happen like it did with my first picture? I have tried restarting the browser (chrome).
I am working with http://www.the-life-study.org on the first post.
The blog I need help with is stephenpassman.wordpress.com.
The ALT attribute is read by search engines and is not meant to appear on the post. The description won’t appear either. if you want to include text below the images use the Caption field
The image description will show up when someone clicks on the image, as long as you’ve set your image to link to the image Attachment page or, in a Gallery, the Photo Carousel or Attachment page.
There will be no description appearing when you set your images to link to either None or the Media file.
(If you are up for a challenge, you can link your standalone images to the Photo Carousel, too: http://agallerydemo.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/image-attachment-pages-and-the-photo-carousel/ )
as long as you’ve set your image to link to the image Attachment page or, in a Gallery, the Photo Carousel or Attachment page.
Thanks for that.
Thank you so much for all your help. What I’m really hoping to do though is get a much smaller text underneath my pictures so I can reference them. If I put them in the caption, they show up really large. For one, it did work and made it much smaller when I put it in the alt text.
The specific example is the difference between the first picture and the second picture here: http://the-life-study.org/2014/02/09/5-ways-to-get-all-the-motivaiton-youll-ever-need-for-exercise-and-for-life/
Thank you for all your help as I am just getting started and want it to look professional! Y’all are great!
