I am building a school PTA website and want to put some type of scrolling slider in the sidebar. I’ve found one that I like but can’t seem to tell where to get it or who offers it. I’ve looked at the code but still can’t seem to locate any plugin name. Also emailed the site but no answer.

Can anyone tell me what this slider is called and better yet, where I can get it (paid or free)?

Here it is on the right side of page.

    Thanks in advance.

There is no FTP access to our free hosted WorPress.com blogs and we bloggers can’t install plugins for security reasons. http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/ Also note that there is no upgrade you can purchase that allows FTP access and the ability to install plugins. Only those with WordPress.org installs can use plugins http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

These are the themes we have that have post sliders http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider/ Only four themes have a featured post slider that automatically advances: Debut, Currents, On Demand, Modularity Lite, Sight. (the first 3 are premium themes) and the last one is a free theme.

Not sure what your response has to do with my question?

Just want to know if anyone has any idea where I can get a similarly looking/functioning slider shown on http://www.moneymorning.com.

    Thanks.

I understand what you are asking. These are WordPress.COM technical support forums. We cannot install any plugin sliders into free hosted WordPress.COM blogs. We are not allowed to create discussion threads and the most likely place to get an answer to your question is on the WordPress>ORG support forums. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click this link http://wordpress.org/support and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the correct support forums for your software.

Thanks Tess…..now it makes sense. Yes I do have a UN for the .org version. But…I sure hope someone in this forum could be of some help even though it doesn’t technically apply. I’ll head over to the other forum and ask the same thing.

I’m new to the WP forums so thanks again for the tip.
