    Is there such a thing as “critical mass” in the blog world ;
    a certain number of views that helps momentum rise exponentially?

    The blog I need help with is redrundrain.wordpress.com.

    As you’ve probably noticed, nothing happens at the 10,000 pageview mark, nor does anything happen at any other number. I hit a cumulative total of a million pageviews a year ago, and no one cared. It’s a big blogosphere, and several blogs get a million pageviews a month — some get a lot more.

    You’ll have to consider your 10,000 pageviews as a personal achievement and an inspiration to continue your good work. There are various practices recommended to increase traffic, but the only sure thing that will increase your momentum is to continue posting quality content. That alone will encourage your regular readers to keep visiting, and it will impress new visitors to become regulars.
