API key for wordpress.com stats for self-hosting
-
To activate this after installing it to my self-host admin dashboard, I’m directed to get an API key from my wordpress.com account, which I didn’t have. So, I created an account and set up a free blog at wordpress.com for the API key. When I copied it to paste it into my self-host area to activate wordpress.com stats, it gives me the error…
Error from last API Key attempt:
The owner of that API Key (guidepointe) is not on the access list for this blog (25223113). Stats was installed using a different API key. The owner of the original key can add users to the access list, or you can contact WordPress.com support. If I were to add a new user, I am the same user with the same email address, so that doesn’t work.
Any suggestions on how I straighten this out would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you… Cindy

I’m afraid this one is beyond most of the volunteers here. I’ll tag this thread for staff attention, but if they have not replied by noon Monday UTC/GMT, contact them directly at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ . Search for anything at all on that page and then scroll down to the bottom and click on the “no” button and the contact form will appear.

The WordPress.com Stats plugin is no longer under active development.
Please try Jetpack instead: http://jetpack.me/
It adds a few new features and will fix your current problem.
