Appearance – it is not in my menu. why?
I would like to use a theme from the Elegant Themes that I just bought. They say to use World Press for that. But appreance line does not appear in my menu. Is that possible? do I have to pay for that to you, too?
Because of the way WordPress.com’s technical infrastructure is designed, we are not able to support uploading of custom WordPress themes on our service.
Well, after I found the appearance in my maenu, after I created a blog. I do not see the thing Elegant Themes use in their navigation. Quote
“Next you must upload the .ZIP file you just downloaded to your website via the WordPress Dashboard. Log in to wp-admin and click the Appearances > Themes tab. Next click the “Install Themes” button and then click the “Upload” link. Click “Choose File” and locate the .ZIP file you just downloaded and click “Install Now.” Once then theme has been uploaded, you can activate it from within the Appearances > Themes tab.”
Is it not possible to use Elegant themes at all? Because all their web is about the World Press!
There is no upgrade that you can purchase that will provide FTP access and the ability to upload third party themes to a free hosted WordPress.com blog. To do that you must hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install.
The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs are those found here > Appearance > Themes and there is no upgrade you can purchase that changes that.
