Hey all, I have searched the forums and support pages and can’t find an answer to this question. My blog/website is not live yet as I am still working on it.
I am using Vigilance theme and have posted quite a number of old posts from another location. When I click on either a category, tag or archive month it gives me a list of posts. When I then click on a post it only gives me one. I would like for it to either open a page with the latest post followed by the older ones when I click on category/tag/archive or at least give me more than one post when I select from a list of posts. The first is preferable. I notice that some themes seem to work this way. Is it just because I am using Vigilance or do I need to set it up some way that I can’t seem to see?
Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is peregrinefarm.net.
Yes, that’s theme dependent – see here:
Another thing to notice about categories and tags in general:
In a private blog, you can click on a tag or category in both sidebar widgets and below your posts (above in some themes), and you will see a list of posts in that category.
Once the blog goes public, though the category and tag links will go to global tags:
Global tags will work the same way as with a if you choose (under privacy settings)
I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors
So unless you choose the option of hiding from search engines, be sure to have widgets so readers will find posts on your own blog.
gak I didn’t say that clearly:
If you choose to block search engines, then only your own posts will appear when clicking below your posts.
(but that’s not a really good option: readers won’t be able to find your blog)
