As posted on http://en.wordpress.com/features/, are TIME, CNN, TED, Boing Boing, and TechCrunch really WordPress.com blogs? or WordPress.org? If they are hosted on WordPress.com, how come they got all the unlimited features?

The blog I need help with is arielparconjr.com.

Yes they are WordPress.COM blogs – but they are in the VIP program – that starts at something like $ 30,000 / year and you have to interview with WordPress.COM before you are allowed into the program because they check out your support staff and have some very stiff requirements for the qualifications of your staff.

And yes they can use Plug-in’s – but each Plug-in costs them $ 5,000 to have it vetted by WordPress.COM staff.
