Hi blaiddwyn,
To get to display settings go to your wp-admin dashboard:
yoursiteaddress.wordpress.com/wp-admin
From there, go to Posts –> All Posts
Next, hover over the post you want to edit and click ‘Edit’Once inside the post you want to edit, click on the image that you need to size. Click the pencil (edit) button. From there you can choose your alignment and size options (including full size that you are looking for).
You also have the option in the editor to link your pics as well. There is also some other advanced options.
I hope this helps! Have a great day! :-)

this brings me precisely to ‘edit image’, where i get ‘scale’, and ‘crop’, and no more
no display options – not alignment, not size
still utterly baffled
the couple times i have seen those options i believe they appeared in the upper right, but only after clicking a menu or toggling something open, none of which i can locate again
i know it’s somewhere… maybe one place in the old interface, and elsewhere in the new one?
thanks

Are you trying to edit a ‘featured image’ or an image in the body of the post?
On my site, when I go to the image in the body of the post and click the pencil to edit, it brings up the options I mentioned to you. If I click on the ‘featured image’ I can only scale and crop.

featured image – you guessed it
sorry, some of this nomenclature escapes me…
13th year ‘beat it out on a rock’ html webmaster, but very new to WPappears i need to add the image to the body of the post, and have no feature image, to achieve what i want at this stage, with single-image posts
really appreciate the nudge – thanks very much

I’m glad it worked! :-)
Also, just as an fyi:
Note: Certain themes use featured images in other ways that may require a specifically sized image to work properly. Please see the documentation for your theme for those exact dimensions.

Thanks and have a wonderful day!
