Audio player acting funky

  1. Posted an mp3 last week, and for the last few days, the WP audio player is making it sound like Alvin & the Chipmunks. The Mp3 file is fine, and if you play the Mp3 file directly from the URL, it's fine. Just playing it in the audio player is screwed up. I'd ping support about this, but it's not that time of day.

  2. It's the encoding, I would think. The player only plays audio with a certain encoding accurately, otherwise you get the chipmunk effect. Can you confirm it played normally last week and this changed?

  3. I can say that it was fine when I checked it after posting. Several people commented on the post, and then a few days later I got told that it sounded like chipmunks.

  4. Then I do think you need to contact staff. I'll check my old ones as well; it would truly suck if formerly useful audio were suddenly all rendered pointless.

  5. My previous posts with audio seem to be fine. I guess I will re upload the file and try it again.

  6. I am getting the same problem - The files play fine in their source website but not in my blog

  7. Then it's the encoding, as I said at the top of the thread. You'll need to take the files down, convert them to the encoding prefers (Do a forum's here somewhere) and then re-upload them.

  8. This seems to happen from time to time with the audio player where everything will be fine for a few days or so and then it starts playing slow. I would do as rain suggests and contact support about it and see what they have to say. It would also be nice if you could post back here in this thread what they have to say about it.

  9. I will do just that. I've re-encoded this file several ways now, and it works great each time for a few days... then it's chipmunks. Will msg support tomorrow during their hours and figure this out.

  10. Contacted support and worked through it with them. Turns out that an old version of the Flash player was the problem. Updated to the latest player, and all was well again.
