It is theme dependent. As an example, the author does show up on the Mistylook theme. You can use the preview function under presentation > themes in your dashboard to find which do and which do not. Alternaltely if the theme you are using is the one you want to use, have your authors put their name at the beginning of their posts.

1. As TSP mentioned, authors can add their own byline to each post, either at the beginning or the end (or in the middle, but i wouldn’t recommend that)
2. Create a category for each author’s name and make sure they use the category on every post
3. Create a tag for each author’s name and make sure they use the tag on every post
