Auto generate list

    Hi everyone,

I’ve recently created a new blog (scottwhitmore.com) and I have a quick question. I have a batch file that runs daily on my server which creates a list of folders in a particular directory. I’m planning to make this a VB script that lists the recently created folders for the last week.

Is it possible to create a page on my site that auto updates this list daily? Hoping someone might have tried this before, or can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is scottwhitmore.com.

Ok, after a little research, what I’m looking for is slightly different. I’m now pulling data straight from an SQL database instead of my batch file. I plan to use ODBC to access this data.

Anyone know how I can display the contents of a database on a page on my website? Sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks again!

You are speaking of http://scottwhitmore.com/ this WordPress.com blog?

If you set up an RSS feed for the list, then you can use an RSS widget in your sidebar. Other than that, probably not possible.

If you coded something up in Flash, you could possibly use the gigya shortcode to embed it in a page.

Yes raincoaster it is a WordPress.com blog.

Thanks thesacredpath, I might look at the RSS option. I can get the data uploaded the internet easily enough (either my own FTP or skydrive), the main problem I have is a way of displaying it on the blog.
