    I want to have the background color for my header solid or a simple design, like the star symbol on the demo. And then images a backgrounds for my blog posts. I’ve been looking and looking and can’t find a way. If it is something that is obvious, please forgive my ignorance.

    The blog I need help with is flocat.wordpress.com.

    Sorry – I solved it myself. Go to Blog Posts on the Dash board – click on the post you want to edit, go to Featured Image, upload and/or choose a photo and it will become the background of that post.
    Hope this helps someone else.

    @jobvc,
    @tebohomartin,

    @flocat resolved the issue described in the OP by finding out how to set a featured image. So the topic title is misleading. Please start new topics, here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1.

    Also, the original post refers specifically, though indirectly, to the Intergalactic 2 theme, as does the the instruction provided by @flocat in the second post.
