    Hi,

    Really like the new Veeva Theme.

    Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the background-color of an individual post from the backend? Or are these colors defined in the stylesheet?

    Greets,

    Sander

    See here please http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/veeva/
    Note the column of features on the right hand side includes “custom background”. Scroll down on that page to “Custom header, and background” please.

    You can easily apply a background color or image by going to Appearance → Background.

    That adjustment will affect every page in the blog. Note also that background is not the area beneath the text on post or pages. It’s the outer bordering edge.

    To change the background color behind the text on any individual post or page free of charge please see here http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/09/19/background-color-to-text/

    Hi Timechief,

    Thanx for your reply. Want to install this Theme on a self-hosted WordPress site.

    After inspecting the code of the theme it looks like every post format has a standard bg color.

    • An image or gallery format post has the brown bg color.
    • A link format post has the red bg color.
    • A video format post has the green color
    • A standard format post white bg color

    The good thing is that you can override these standard post format bg colors by using the Post ID in your stylesheet.

    Greets,

    Sander

    Timechief was a blogger who registered that username account and foolishly impersonated me. I am timethief.

    Want to install this Theme on a self-hosted WordPress site.

    Too bad you did not clearly state that up front. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    Read this and you will know why I said that.

    Note: Premium Themes that are licensed for WordPress.com use only cannot be transferred to self-hosted WordPress.org sites. Some Automattic-developed premium themes can be transferred to a self-hosted site at no charge, as part of a Guided Transfer. Please post in the premium theme forums if you’d like to know whether your theme qualifies. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/premium-themes/

    Sorry I misspelled your name timethief. I can buy the Theme on the Creative Market.

    Nice to see that premium wp.com themes are also available for self-hosted sites. The people at Automattic make awesome Themes and finally Jetpack is available for self hosted sites to!

    Thinking about changing my own static website with Veeva.

    Thanx for your time, timethief…

    Hi there!

    It is indeed possible to change the background color of a post based on the Post ID:

    .postid-15 {
    background-color: #fff;
    }

    Should you decide to go for a self-hosted blog, please buy the Veeva Theme from Creative Market as the ability to download and transfer themes purchased from WordPress.com is limited. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns. Thanks!

    druesome,

    Thanx for your reply. When I buy the Theme from the Creative Market. Where do I get support for the Theme? Can I use the Themes Forum here @ wordpress.com or somewhere else? Is the Themes Forum supported by the builders of the Theme from Autommatic? Like to know cause I am a newbie here @ wp.com. Thanx for your time.

    Hey there Sander,

    Since the theme is created by Automattic, you may ask for support at the Premium Theme Support forums here:

    http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/veeva

    Good luck!

    Is posting to the premium themes support forum possible when one has not yet purchased a premium theme?

    @timethief

    Yes, it’s totally fine especially if they had initial concerns or questions about a theme before purchasing. :)

    No you misunderstood me. I was asking if blogger who have no yet purchased premium theme are capable of posting there. I believe there is only read access and unless one purchases a premium theme they will not have the link in their dashboard so they cannot post to the premium support forums.

    I thought the same, @druesome, @timethief

    If you buy Veeva through Creative Market, you do get support included. You can send a message to the theme author when you’re logged in at Creative Market and we reply to you privately.

    You’re correct. Someone who has not purchased a premium theme can view the Veeva support forum, but can’t post there.
