Background image CSS

I’ve read *countless* tutorials on this and am still not getting it, so please ignore me if my redundancy causes you to scream (I’m sorry!).

This is a link to the CSS I am using [ ].

I need to figure out how to put a background image onto it, instead of a simple colour. However, I don’t know where to insert the code (or even if I have the code correct!).

Here are some examples of 2 websites that use this template:

This one [ ] has a background image.

This one [ ] does not.

    Any help? (Greatly appreciated!)

You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the forums, not here.

If you don’t understand the difference, you may find this information helpful.

If you are talking about tumblr (and the CSS file you reference is for tumblr), then you are in the wrong forum. This forum is for blogs hosted here at wordpress.COM which isn’t even remotely “tumblr.”

(I think this might be another stupid question…)

    They aren’t transferable?

No they are not. CSS is different for each theme because it is written by individual authors and they determine what they are going to use for selector names and such. CSS is theme – and platform – specific.

To change the look of a theme here, you have to start with the CSS for the particular theme you are going to use and then modify that CSS file.
