Baskerville 2 Theme

    Hello,
I was having some issues customizing my site. I am trying to make the front page of my website appear similar to the picture on the right. (https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2/detrimentalpsyche.wordpress.com)

I’m some of my longer poems (all ready on the site) to have pictures then the writing like in the top two left pictures.
Have some of my artwork, that when you click on it brings you to a page with that artwork and poem.
Then Haikus in the unpictured boxes.

I can not however get more than one article to show up on my homepage at time? Any help would be appreciated.

The blog I need help with is detrimentalpsyche.wordpress.com.

    Hi,

I can not however get more than one article to show up on my homepage at time?

It looks like your site is set to display one post per page. That setting may be changed by altering the number set at My Site(s) > Settings > Writing > Content Types > Blog posts “Display __ blog posts per page.”

I’m [intending] some of my longer poems (all ready on the site) to have pictures then the writing like in the top two left pictures.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to as the “top two left pictures.” If you’re referring to images on the front page of the Baskerville 2 demo, then these are most likely featured images that have been set on the posts. See the Featured Images support page. I say “most likely” because each such image could also represent the first (topmost) image inserted into the corresponding post if the box labeled “Automatically use first image in post” is ticked at Customize > Content Options > Featured Images, AND there is no featured image set on the post.

Have some of my artwork, that when you click on it brings you to a page with that artwork and poem.

When the front page is set to display the latest posts on Baskerville 2, then it will display only posts. However, you could selectively use the “link format” on a post, and have it link to a page on the site.

I should have also provided a link to the Baskerville 2 theme guide.

You could include the artwork and poem or poems in posts. If several images are to be included in the artwork, then you might consider displaying them in either a portfolio or a gallery.

So I have solved the post per page issue. Along with the featured or show image features. Im now trying to knit pick some formatting issues.
If you look at my current site the newest post is a haiku. It is displayed as a running sentence. I want it formatted like:
    Torment pain abound
    Thoughts craven within his dreams
    This is the way out

Also, is there a way to remove the Share This and Like button from some post but not others? I am wanting the long poems to have the like and share tabs. I do not however want the haikus too.

If you look at my instagram I have two photos now and how im trying to adjust it https://www.instagram.com/DetrimentalPsyche/

If it is inserted into the content of the post as displayed above, then it will display that way, as long as you’ve set the blog page to display full posts. The relevant setting may be found at Customize > Content Options > Blog Display (Choose between a full post or an excerpt for the blog and archive pages.). What is happening in your case is that the haiku is displayed as an excerpt, which results in the formatting being lost.

Also, is there a way to remove the Share This and Like button from some post but not others?

Yes. On any post you may selectively disable Share and Likes buttons on that post only by unchecking the boxes labeled “Show Sharing Buttons” and “Show Like Button” at the post editor > Post Settings > Sharing > Sharing Buttons & Likes.

What type of adjustment are you attempting?

Thank you I have now fixed both of those options.
Is it possible to have some blog post show up as full post and others show up as post excerpts?

    You’re welcome.

    Is it possible…

Yes. Set full posts to display universally, as described above, and then use the More tag on selected posts to truncate them on the blog page.

Hi, I have a quick question.

Newbie here and i’ve added in More Tags to get Continue Reading o the main page however when I click on any of these they jump to middle of page and not the top.

How do I get the linked page to not jump to the middle?
I see detrimentalpsyche.wordpress.com. has this where you click on the link and it goes to the top.

    My blog is lukaswinn.net

    Thanks

Looks like it’s not possible unless you have the WordPress.org setup.
