Best way to organize categories

    I’ve started a blog/gallery for comedy related posters. I’ve decided to simply create a post for each poster, have several CATEGORIES for show genre, and then use TAGS for names, venues, etc

    It’s been pointed out to me that it would be good if I could distinguish between shows that happened in the past, and shows that are forthcoming.

    Anyone have any good suggestions as the best way to do this?

    I’m thinking of simply having a category called “forthcoming”, but what is going to happen when the event passes. Am I going to have to manually change categories back.
