Block a User/IP?
I want to block access from a user who uses my blog as her own Associated Press. She herself has called me one of her “news sources.” She doesn’t copy my posts outright (although she used to), but everything I write ends up on her blog in a sort of summary form with little or no credit given to me or to anyone I credit. I know she’s doing this because it usually happens the same day.
Here’s an example from today:
English For Season 4 in November
English Season Four Coming in November
Is this acceptable? Am I overreacting? I don’t know, but she does it every time and I’m very annoyed. I’m sick of writing for her.
I’ve already reported her. Is it possible to block her somehow without restricting overall access to the blog?
The blog I need help with is unadinoi.wordpress.com.
There isn’t anyway to restrict a visitor unless you would make your blog private and only allow the users you approve of.
Sadly people do this all the time. I’ve had it happen to me also and unless they copy an entire post and call it their own, I don’t know that there is much that can be done about it.
If those posts that were copied completely still exist on the other site, go after those and see if you can get staff to shut the blog down.
She herself has called me one of her “news sources.”
That was back a few weeks(or a month ago when i originally created my blog to report on everything that happens in the winx world both online and with the actual show.Just to be frank,I don’t consider you as a news source anymore.I’ve been trying out writing my own winx articles and it has been working just fine.
She doesn’t copy my posts outright (although she used to), but everything I write ends up on her blog in a sort of summary form with little or no credit given to me or to anyone I credit. I know she’s doing this because it usually happens the same day.
Perhaps you have overlooked things.I’ve had other people I know email me with their winx information,by chance that information also appears on your blog as well? I also search for information everywhere and might have got the information from different sources.
I don’t want you write potential posts for me.In fact I never thought that at all.I write my own posts, get my own ideas and manage my blog just fine.
If it pleases you,I don’t take any information from your site without giving you full credit. In fact, there is a post on your blog about who would be Roxy’s pixie.
And another I wrote:
Please email me any more concerns that you might have.I don’t want to think that this is a blog rivalry.
You two need to take this to PEM or to a conversation on one of your blogs rather than here in the forums.
Actually, she (The Melodic Muse) never saw your article about the pixies. She doesn’t even know the link to your blog. I write from my laptop, and she writes from our family’s computer. We post separately.
Sorry. We’ll do that. Thank you for your help.
In a side note: What exactly is “PEM”?
Not to contradict you or anything, she did link to me in her post,”Rating Winx Dating”
Yes,of course. We’ll just work this out by email.
PEM is short for Personal E Mail.
I see you marked it as “resolved.” That is good enough. Staff will at some point close it.
