blog page problem on Sketch

  • Everything was working well until I decided to make my ‘projects’ page on the front of the blog and to move the ‘blog’ to the menu.
Incidentally, there was no ‘blog’ tab as that had defaulted to the ‘home’ button. I created one, but it’s just a page with ‘blog’ as title.
I can’t figure out how get my blog articles to show there.
    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I figured it out! The ‘Home’ tab displays the blog posts. I had removed it. I put it back in and changed the name from ‘home’ to ‘blog’.

  • Hi,

Glad to see that you were able to find a solution on your own. Good work! However, let me just briefly explain why that happened and suggest an alternate remedy.

When you changed the front page to a static page, then it would have been necessary to choose another page as the page on which to display the latest posts. Both the static front page and the posts (or “blog”) page may be set in the two corresponding drop-down menus that appear if you select the option “A static page” at Customize > Homepage Settings > Your homepage displays.

So presently your homepage is still set on the page “Home,” which has the URL https://floradoehler.ca/home/ and shows the page title “Home” in the browser tab, though the menu item that links to it is labeled “Blog.” That’s fine if you don’t mind the page URL and page title not matching the menu item name. Alternatively, you may change the setting in the second drop-down menu at the location specified above so that the page titled “Blog” (URL https://floradoehler.ca/blog/) instead of the page titled “Home” displays the posts page.

  • Thank you soooo much!
I made the change and now the correct url is pointing to the blog posts. :)

  • You’re welcome! : )
