Blog post vanished before publishing.
Today I attempted to preview my blog post (after pressing the save button) and when I went to the preview page, my post had disappeared. In addition, when I checked the revisions list, all content was missing from the revisions during the day as I worked on the post. All of the content from that blog post has completely evaporated. The blog post was titled: Sad Patterns: A study in Simplicity…..
Is there any way the post can be retrieved via Worpress? How can it be determined what happened so it doesn’t happen again.
Thank you so much.

According to our log, the post had absolutely no content, so I can’t really say what happened in this case.
Hopefully it won’t happen again, but please let us know if it does!
Isn’t it odd that there were revisions listed but there was no content in them? Is it even possible to intentionally delete content from revisions? I have been blogging with WP for years now and this has made me very wary of using my time and effort for future blog posts until this gets sorted out. I read back a few days and see I am not the only one this has happened to.
I guess I’ll start backing up to a Word file until I am comfortable again.
Thanks for checking your log.
If it is any help at all, the precise moment the post disappeared was when I pressed “Preview”.
Do you have both first and third-party cookies enabled in your browser?
apparently so since my blog post this morning posted fine
Did you preview it before posting?
yes I did and it appeared as normal
In that case, hopefully the old problem won’t come back. If it does, please do let us know!
