Blue bar everywhere!!

I have looked for an answer to this in faq and on the forums but can’t find anything. If this is stupid beyond stupid I apologise. The url for my blog is http://wiibendz.wordpress.com. No problems there, everything I need comes up. The problem I have is that everyone sees everything, if you know what I mean. Everyone sees the admin panel. That can’t be right is it? Am I distributing the wrong URL?

Again I apologise if I am missing something really obvious!

Are you certain everyone sees that? Sign out of WordPress and look again; usually you only see it if you’re signed in. And if you’re signed in, you’ll see the blue bar everywhere, even other peoples’ blogs, but when you click Dashboard it will only take you to YOURS.

    Hi raincoaster,

Yeah if I sign out of my PC the dashboard goes, which is fine. I was just a bit freaked when at work 4 different people on 4 different PCs had my Dashboard visible. So when I am signed in to the account no matter who goes to the address they will see the dashboard? Even my Wii shows it!

Ah. It’s got to be something to do with your proxy server; when you put in your password, everything going through that connection would have it too. That’s got to be something for the techies there to fix, I think. At least, this is what I’m thinking: hopefully a techie will check this thread soon.

Ah ok, thanks. It just seemed wierd that no matter what I use (work PC, Wii, DS, other people’s PCs at work etc) everyone sees the admin panel!! Thanks for your suggestions though, it’s much appreciated!

Excuse me but I think this important. I recommend sending in a feedback to staff right away.

Definetely bring it up with staff, but I am not sure if in this case the staff would be able to do anything about it. All you can do is bring it up with network that you are working on and ask them not to cache the domain wordpress.com.. As well, make sure you logout all the time.

Unless they have a fix for this, it would seem that in the short run you have to stop the proxy from creating such a security hole on your end.

Edit: Oops, never mind. Looking at the wrong site. Feedback sent on another site that *cough* has an issue.

    Can’t you kill the link?

At last, it appears my simple laziness has saved me…from something.

Are these four folks on PCs in the same network that you are? I’m wondering if you have a mucked up proxy that you’re going through.

edit: Nah, it’s ligit. I mistyped and went to a different one. The other site crashed both of my browsers. It is not the one listed above. I did report the other site though.

    Sorry for the confusion. :)

2 were, 2 weren’t. Odd. I am going to sign in now and stay signed in – can someone try the site and see if they get the Dash?

    TIA folks!!

I can’t see it, but that doesn’t suprise me. The proxy server on your end would cache the site, not wordpress.com sending out a cached version to the world. I would imagine this is localized to your office. But, anything is possible on the net…..

    I’m not a mate or a dude. I’m a chick {sniff}. Best wishes :)

Miss Manners says “Guys” is gender-neutral. I think “Mate” is, too. On the internet, nobody can see your boo-tay.

I hang my head in shame. I sadly have fallen into using terms like guys and dudes as generic “anyone” terms, as suggested by Mr/Master/Mrs/Miss/Ms Raincoaster.

Seriously, no offense intended timethief. :o)

Hey the best wishes and smile meant that I truly wasn’t offended at all. Let’s write it off to a pheromone rush, okay. ;)
