Building rotating "newsletter" page via plugins on WordPress.com site

  1. Howdy,

I have a really annoying request...unless you like annoying puzzles :)

I have a WordPress.com site (not .org) that does not have the custom CSS editing capability. So I need to do this via plugins. (Don't ask me why it's set up this way -- I wish it wasn't, but I can't change it.)

Essentially, I'm creating a monthly "newsletter" that lives on a page. The page will be permalinked from the nav menu on the homepage.

Each month there will be a new newsletter, but I need the actual page to stay where it is -- just have the content switch out.

There will be anchor links within the page that are sent out via monthly email (i.e. the actual newsletter).

I basically need it to function like a WordPress blog, with a permanent header.

I need to preserve the old newsletters in an archive.

I would use the built-in WordPress blog function, but it won't allow me to remove the post info on the left, so it would end up being narrow and looking like crap. So I need to recreate that function via plugins and pages.

I'm messing around with a bunch of plugins, but just haven't found the right combo yet. My thought is some kind of regular page, perhaps with some inserted widgets shortlinked to content, with anchor links between the widgets. Seems like a clunky solution though. It's be nice to have full WSIWYG capability, with anchors, etc.

    Any thoughts?

Thanks very much for your help.

  2. Hi there,

I would use the built-in WordPress blog function, but it won't allow me to remove the post info on the left

Can you please give in more details regarding post info being displayed on left? What is it you want it to be removed?

    Thank you.
