Can anyone help me to find a theme that matches my current site?

  1. Hi there,

I currently use which is a bit of a nightmare as it over-sharpens my images and is generally annoying. I'd like to try using WordPress. I'd like to recreate this site that I created on Wix: as close as possible using Can anyone help me find a theme (I don't mind paying for a Premium one) that matches as close as possible to this style? I've been searching through and there are just so many...if anyone knows of one that matches closely or can be customised to match that would be wonderful.

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is

  2. See for the Themes Showcase where there are feature filters in the searchbox that you can use to narrow your choices. Note also that we Volunteers and Staff do not assist with theme selection as it's subjective decision making process and there are over 220 themes. We are focused on providing assistance with support issues only.

  3. Ok, thank you. If I purchase a premium theme can I change the main background pattern etc?

  4. The answer to that question is some themes provide more customizable features than other themes do.

You cannot build or use your own custom theme built from scratch at

The only themes we can use are those found here > Appearance > Themes
This is a multiuser blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme are using the same underlying template and we cannot access the underlying files and edit templates or themes.

There are two free themes, Sandbox and Toolbox designed to allow maximum flexibility for CSS editing and creating new “skins”. Toolbox is more modern and includes a lot of support for CSS3 and HTML5, so it is really only limited by your skills and knowledge.

If you have CSS editing experience the upgrade will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but will not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. It does not allow you to remove footer links to the theme designer or to Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes at WordPress.COM.

  5. Also do you know if I can duplicate a page that I have already created to appear with the images in exactly the same place in the main post area and just change text etc? Or would I need to start again from scratch? Thanks

  6. Thank you for your help! You mentioned Sandbox and Toolbox being free themes where you can edit CSS - but i thought you can only edit CSS with the $30 upgrade?

  7. Also is there any way of finding out how much each Premium can be customised? Some of them mention what you can in their live demos, but some don't at all? Sorry, lots of questions..

  8. The themes are free but the annually renewable custom design upgrade is not.

My advice is to hire a web host and set up a install because you can edit themes and CSS on sites free of charge.

  9. Ok, thank you!

  10. You're welcome.
