Hi, I have read that wordpress.com automatically send all new post and updates to pingomatic. I also read that sending out too many pings can be a bad thing. Sometimes I will publish a post and later see an error I made. When I correct it does it resend it to pingomatic? I looked in the Writing section of my Settings and did not see the Update Services option. I only have Writing Settings, Post This, and Post By Email. Also, is there a way to edit a published post without it being resent to followers as a new post?
    Thanks

The blog I need help with is guitarwtf.com.

Each post edit or approved comment results in a new notification ping. This update frequency is the preferred behavior of search engines interested in discovering fresh content without needing to revisit your blog unnecessarily.

You can temporarily set your blog visibilty to “private” and do your updating. When you are done you can change the privacy setting back to public.
