Can I get an inactive username?
I want to use an inactive WordPress account http://walid.wordpress.com/ because the username is my first name and it has been inactive since July 30th 2006. I also have this name as my twitter handle and Delicious social bookmarking username.
Can I please use the inactive username “walid”
Blog url: http://waliddamouny.wordpress.com/
The blog I need help with is waliddamouny.wordpress.com.
If you can get ahold of the blogger, then you can ask him. Staff won’t intervene in this case.
Thank you guys for your prompt replies.
I tried commenting on his blog hoping to get his attention but it didn’t get any the first time around. I was hoping WordPress would implement a policy for people who don’t post anything like twitter does.
There is no such policy and the likelihood there will ever be one here is dim to none IMO if you read this > http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ More to the point is this:
Blog names are the same as usernames for the most part. Usernames can be turned into blog names, but blog names cannot be turned into usernames. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-change-username-because-i-use-same-display-name?replies=5#post-694997
BTW the Twitter policy is a policy in words only. I’ve been trying for two years to get a dormant account which is my civilian name and I’ve never gotten one response from Twitter.
