can i insert a sidebar myself?

i am using a theme which has no left sidebar . is it possible for me to enter a left side barmyself?

Technically if your are adept at CSS editing, have purchased the annually renewable custom design upgrade and depending on the theme you use you may be able to, but why bother at all? Why not select a theme that’s already designed to have a left sidebar like Fictive for example http://en.wordpress.com/themes/fictive/
