Can people subscribe/have accounts on your website?

    Hi there,

    My website will contain a guide and I’d like people to be able to subscribe to my website and have a few options such as:
    – have a list of favorite things + location;
    – what they are planning on visiting;
    -what they’ve already seen etc.
    -maybe do some uploads too.

    Is is possible on a regular WP website?
    Thank you

    The blog I need help with is

    That is not possible on a website. It’s possible on a WordPress.ORG website. It will cost you a bit of money to set up properly or lots of time if you want to do it yourself, because allowing people to upload things to your site is a HUGE security risk. You want to set it up securely from the get-go.

    Hi, thank for your fast answer.
    Well, they wouldn’t be uploading it directly, of course, I forgot to mention it would be like a pending thing, we would check it first.
    How about just having their own favorites at least that?

    And also what is the difference between the 2 and how many 0’s would I have to put down to get that done?

    You would have to have either a lot of time on your hands or $2000-5000 to start up.

    If you want to dumb it down, you can simply have a blog and get them to put things in the comments section. Then if it’s an image, YOU can edit their comment and make the image show. Until then, it’s just a URL. But they can’t really make live blog posts to a blog unless they’re authors.

    You might be interested in Windows MU, which is free software designed to do this sort of thing, or Buddypress, which is similar, but with social interaction like FB.
