Can you free up a reserved site so it may be registered?

For a few months I have been checking the domain for the blog “” but when I try to go there, it says “This page does not exist. Sorry, but this site can’t be registered, it is reserved!”

I know this means that someone else has registered it but has not published anything to the blog, however, I am wondering if a blog name/domain has not been used for a long period of time, is it possible for wordpress to free up that blog so that another interested user can register it?

I am extremely interested in registering the blog name under “lebanonymous” but unfortunately it was taken. The sad part is it’s taken by someone who doesn’t use it.

Please let me know if this is at all possible.

    Thank you,

The blog I need help with is

No, it is not possible. Deleted and abandoned domains are never taken away and given to other people. If you really must have a URL, get the Custom Domain upgrade and get or .org you want.

    thank you raincoaster!

Not possible at all – blog names are now reserved for user names – if you can find the user on your own and convince them to register the blog then transfer it to you – that is your only option & WordPress.COM will not help you contact the account owner
