Can you help me delete an old blog?

  1. diamondstarcars

I have tried for the last several hours to figure out how to delete an old blog. Once upon a time it was affiliated with an older email account, but that account says I have deleted said blog.

    Here is the address:

I tried to recover the email address for it, but kept getting notified that the page "doesn't exist on" even though it clearly does.

I would like to delete this blog.

All of the content on was previously used on a different wordpress blog with the same name "Lost Sailors of my Penmanship". I have emails that say both were deleted.

I look forward to hearing from you.

  2. Please be aware that in order to delete any blog one must be logged in under the exact username account that registered the blog.

Provided you are logged in under the username account that registered the blog you can delete it by using these instructions.
Please note that deleted blog URLs are not recycled. do not recommend deleting the blog as it can be made private and used for testing and backup purposes. Using the privacy setting may be a better option >
Hiding blogs is possible too >

I do not know what email was used to create the blog. That is the primary problem.

There is a retrieval form on wordpress, but unfortunately they say that the url does not exist.

That is the issue I am facing.

  4. Hi again,
Lost access to your primary email address, or didn’t add an SMS number for recovery? No problem! Just click Need More Help? on the Lost Password page. We’ll prompt you for the following pieces of information ...

  5. P.S. I have flagged this thread for Staff help.

Thank you for flagging it. Here is what I am told when I fill out the form you just linked:

" Sorry but the website you gave does not exist on Is it a self-hosted website? "

    It is not a website.

I am pretty sure that I deleted this blog a long time ago, or at least tried to. I'm not sure how I lost access to the account.

  7. Not to worry as Staff will sort this for you. Did you have a domain mapped to that blog previously? If so what was the URL for it?

  8. If you have lost access to your account, please visit and click "Need More Help?" if necessary.

Make sure that you enter just as the blog URL.
