Can you recover a site name from a site that is inactive?
I am interested in starting a new blog. However, I want this blog to have the following URL: thecurrents.wordpress.com. It is taken now, but it is inactive (since 2006). Is there any way the site name can be recovered so I can use it? Please help. Thank you!
The blog I need help with is kristenmeadows.wordpress.com.
If the blogger left contact details on teh blog, contact them and ask for it. If not, try leaving a comment. That’s all you can do: staff will not intervene.
@ raincoaster, i lost a blog about two years ago, do you think i would be able to get the name back without content.
Depends: did you delete it or just forget the login? If you deleted it, it’s gone.
No, wordpress took it of me for coping :)
But the blog name would still be logged with wordpress, would it not.
Do you mean it was suspended? What’s the link?
Apparently, yes, wordpress.com still has a record of it. Was that blog suspended for violation of ToS?
What is the link starting with http://?
Good afternoon. I’m passing you the baton and going for a nap.
Thanks Tess this is me two years ago on the forum and the url is there.

Yes the TOS people did not like something you did – but you could have challenged it – sometimes sites come back from the suspended
I was wondering what happened to Harry
Yes that site name is gone
Harry is still here i have two blogs now :) but i know where i went wrong with that blog :)
I’ll just start again and alter the name a little.
