Cancel domain

    Today I tried to cancel out my domain so that it won’t be renewed. I wanted to cancel it completely but the site just offered me to transfer it to another site – which I don’t want to do. When will be a free domain again and how do I know that I won’t be billed for a service I no longer want?

    You must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the domain mapping upgrade to access the blog’s dashboard and cancel at > Store > My Upgrades provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    To disable autorenew, provided you are logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrades go to > Store > My Upgrades and click the “disable auto-renew” link.

    Important note: The cancellation link sent to the email address on the account is only valid for 24 hours.

    Please keep in mind that cancelling (or not renewing) a domain means that you give up ownership of that domain name completely. There’s no guarantee that you will be able to register that domain again in the future, either here at or with another registrar.

    If we cancel your domain, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.

    If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > My Domains in your dashboard.

    However, if you don’t want this domain at all, you can cancel it at Store > My Upgrades in your dashboard. Locate the domain you want to cancel in the list, and click on the Cancel link near to it.

    This cannot be undone, so please follow the on-screen instructions carefully before you confirm the cancellation.
