Cancellation/Refund on domain mapping and private registration renewal

  1. Hello. I have attempted to cancel both domain mapping and private registration for this domain, which I haven't used in years, and which I apparently did not successfully cancel, as I thought I had, when I was billed last year.

    I believe I have successfully cancelled the domain mapping in time to receive a refund (18 hours after receiving the notification), but would like this confirmed, and would also like it confirmed that the private registration will be cancelled and refunded, since I saw no additional option to do so in the My Upgrades section of the Store once I had cancelled the domain mapping.

    (I would add also that I'm not thrilled about being forced to ask "the Community" for help with a private billing concern, even given that I'm not providing financial information. Very poor support practice, in my opinion.)

Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, as you have noted you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard

    It’s the weekend and though Staff are located all over the world and there are Staff who are working away invisible to us on this support forum, we usually experience a visible Staff presence during weekdays and primarily during prime time on the internet for North America.     Looking at my billing history, I'm realizing that immediately after registering this domain, I decided to go with Somehow I failed to cancelled every service I'd purchased through, and then again only cancelled one service the next year. Both times I thought I was cancelling everything.

    When I try to carry out the cancellations and request the refund in the store sections, I receive these messages:

    "Please contact support if you wish to delete a registered domain."
    "Contact support if you want to request a refund."

    So WordPress appears to be making it difficult for me to cancel, and from what I can tell is forcing me to a public forum to do so, both of which strike me as pretty shady. I've now been charged nearly $75 for something I never once used and twice thought I'd cancelled. I hope they will at least give me back the $21 this time out and ensure that everything attached to this domain is deleted.

    I also hope support will contact me directly at the email address in my records rather than on the forum, and will delete this thread as soon as it is being address. This is just terrible privacy practice.
