I registered a new domain name with WordPress and paid for it, but could not open the domain. Apparently it was already registered, but WordPress still allowed me to register it and accepted my payment. Within hours I went to Store – Upgrade – Cancel but I have not received confirmation of a refund.

The blog I need help with is rlight.wordpress.com.

Please go to the Store -> My Upgrades section of your dashboard, where you’ll find the domain in the list of your upgrades, along with a “Cancel” button.

    Domain Cancellation Policy
Domain products can be refunded only within 48 hours of original purchase. http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/#refunds

    Hi timethief,

Thank you for your interest and support. I am a WordPress newbie and require further assistance to avoid future mistakes in setting up my site properly. Perhaps you could advise me?

My current WordPress address is rlight.wordpress.com. Yesterday I attempted to simplify it to lightburn.com, however I discovered that this address was taken. (I also learned that lightburn.net is taken.) Alternatively, I would like to use lightburn.ca. I have done a Google search for lightburn.ca and as far as I can tell, this address is not in use.

Can you please instruct me in how to make this change?

When I go to WordPress.com the Settings page comes up and shows my Web address as being http://lightburn.com/, even though I thought I had cancelled this yesterday (and subsequently received my refund.) This also needs to be corrected.

I would sincerely appreciate your kind assistance if you could walk me through the steps to make these changes.

    Ron Lightburn
