Cannot change account email

    I have not received a reply since last week in my previous post so I am attempting another post.

    Hello, I've been trying to change over the email on this account and keep receiving errors upon receiving the email link. (Cannot update email address) I read that I may have to ask your staff through here to change it for me. Please advise.

  2. Hopefully, this will help. We have two separate email address settings at

    Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.

    Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

    Hello, I just verified. The email address that I am trying to switch the account to is not in use. I tried to reset the password for it and it stated "Unable to reset password
    I'm sorry, but we weren't able to find a user with that login information.

    Any other suggestions?

    Oh, and the area I am trying to switch the email account is in Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard. I am trying to switch the entire account over to a different email address.

    I would like to get this resolved. Can anyone help me with this?

    The email address that I am trying to transfer the account to does not appear to have an account with wordpress.

    I continue to receive errors when clicking on the link provided in the email given.

    I have sent new emails to to the address with new links but continue to receive the errors.

  8. Would you please quote the error that you saw when you attempted to change the email address?

    It will take me some time to gain access to a new email and reproduce the error as I essentially set this up for someone else and was hoping to switch it over.

    The steps I took are as follows:

    I went to Users -> Personal Settings and under Account Details I changed the email address to theirs. It then switches to "There is a pending change of your e-mail to [email redacted]. Cancel".

    After receiving the email, the URL is clicked and goes to the wordpress home page. Going back to my dashboard and settings in the same area mentioned above, it will say "Cannot Update Email Address". The exact phrase might be a little different but again, it would take me time to reproduce as I would have to contact the recipient to gain access to the new email. I have taken the above steps three times with the same result.

    If the exact error is needed, I will go through the motions again and reproduce the error.

    Also, please reply with the email address you were trying. If you post it in the standard format, it will only be visible to myself and my colleagues.

    I apologize for the wait as I had trouble getting in touch with the person receiving the email address change request. For whatever reason, this time it worked. I'm all set now. Thank you for your time.
