Cannot Delete Media Photos
My media library is filled to the max, so I am going through and deleting old photos I no longer need. However, I keep getting an error message that reads: “You are not allowed to delete this post”. These are my photos in my personal library, so I cannot imagine why I would be getting this message. Has anyone else had this problem in the past?
The blog I need help with is pressedwordsat.wordpress.com.
FYI it’s easier just to register a new blog and use it to upload images, then hotlink them in your current blog. If you properly optimize for the web, you should really never run out of space. I’ve been here seven years, with thousands of uploaded photos, and am still under 30%.
However, I keep getting an error message that reads: “You are not allowed to delete this post”.
Are you logged in under the exact same username account that created the blog where the images in the Media Library in question are found?
Are you the only “author” ie. official user of that blog? Or are your trying to delete images another ‘author” has uploaded into the Media Library?
@raincoaster – Cool, thanks, great idea. Maybe I will just do that. For my first 10-15 newbie posts I didn’t think to resize my DLSR photos at all, and about 65% of my space was eaten up in four weeks. Now I’ve learned the art of resize and am trying to go through and delete / replace one by one. Sigh. Hotlinking sounds eons easier.
@thistimethisspace – I’m the only author, I’ve never had another blog. . . I’ve never even logged in on my blog from another computer! Which is so odd – I really think it’s a glitch!
