cannot import xml file from w/plug-in's disabled

  1. My blog is constantly down. The host says it is a problem with wordpress... So I'm thinking about moving the posts back to my blog, and pay wordpress to host it.

    I read some discussions that you need to disable the plug-in's before exporting the xml file. So I did that, but still cannot import to my blog. Error:
    "Invalid file
    Please upload a valid WXR (WordPress eXtended RSS) export file."

    Are you aware that the only people who pay for hosting their blogs are those who qualify and are accepted and do pay for VIP hosting?

    You issue is not one we can help you with here at Also your host maybe giving you the run-around because I have no problems with my self hosted blog. I frequently deactivate all plugins and export the content out of it and import them into a back-up blog. My self hosted blog is with A Small Orange and they are excellent web hosts with superb support.

  4. One other factor may be this one- my self hosted blog is updated with the latest version of wordpress 2.9.1 and if your isn't that could cause all kinds of problems.

    I was talking about the $10 mapping. I assume the blog is actually But when people go to my self hosted, they see the content of, but the url is still seen as (BTW I just upgraded to 2.9.1. It is still down most of the time.)
