Cannot login to the admin section of my blog

    I have been trying all morning to login to the admin area of my blog. The page accepts my login information (which is correct) and then hangs my browser. Please help! My blog is stationproject.wordpress.co

    The blog I need help with is stationproject.wordpress.com.

    Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

    If you are, please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

    If you are not successful let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if required http://supportdetails.com and also post any error reports you get.

    Well, I am seeing this on three machines – a Windows 7 system running IE9, my mac running Safari 6.0.3 and the WordPress app on my iphone. Access to the admin area of my blog was working fine on all three platforms until this morning and now I cannot login from any of them – same symptoms on all three – after I enter a good userID and password, the browser/app hangs and never makes it to the admin area of my blog. Looks like a server side problem to me.

    Thank you. Once in maybe 10 tires I do get into my dashboard area but attempting to block on the “posts” area just hangs again…..

    I’m not having any trouble with your account myself.

    First, please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting http://whatbrowser.org/

    If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

    If it is, please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

    Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

    See my previous responses in this thread! I have tried three different browser on three different machines. Cleared the cache on all three. All three worked fine yesterday, they all will not login to the admin area of my blog today. Its pretty clear to me that this is a server side problem. Please look at it!

    Are third party cookies enabled or not?
    If yest then on which browser and version of it?

    Did you disable all browser add-ons or not?
    If you did then which browser and version?

    Did you try enabling https:// or not?
    If you did then which browser and version?

    I had no trouble logging in to your account under Safari and Chrome, so I’m fairly certain that the issue isn’t on our end.

    Would you please try all of the troubleshooting steps?

    Well just went back through the trouble shooting steps a second time and no improvement. BTW, it is my client can you explain why the problem suddenly showed up on three separate machines using different browser and also on your app which runs on my iphone and the same on my ipad? Does not seem like a client browser problem on any one machine could call all four clients to simultaneously exhibit the same problem?

    I added a little bit to the end and saved the draft without issue, all under your account.

    Do you have access to a computer on a different network you could try?

    For the WordPress app, try deleting and reinstalling the app.

    Well the problem seems to be clearing up slowly on its own. Access for editing is still slow on my devices but I can do it again now. Do you have some sort of overload condition at this time that could be causing this? Did anything change in the server side implementation in the last 24 hours?

    For what it’s worth, it loaded incredibly quickly every time I logged in under your account.

    I really don’t know what was going on. Perhaps my ISP was doing something related to filtering wordpress or something. Very odd this all went away on its own. Oh well, at least things are working again. Thank you for helping me.
