Cannot map wordpress.com to wordpress.org
I had a previously linked account to missmeghandesigns.com. After changing over the primary domain to missmeghandesigns.wordpress.com and deleting the account all together, it still says my registered domain (meghanboyd.com) is linked to an existing wordpress.com account, which cannot be found.
How do I unlink this in order to link up to my meghanboyd.wordpress.com account?
When I go to missmeghandesigns.wordpress.com it still says that account exists yet I don’t have access to it.
Can someone get back to me ASAP on this? It has been going on for a while now.
meghanboyd.com is mapped to missmeghandesigns.wordpress.com
Would you like me to cancel your domain mapping (it has passed the refund period) or move it to another WordPress.com blog?
Whatever would work!
In the end, I want to map meghanboyd.wordpress.com to meghanboyd.com
Could you transfer that over? missmeghandesigns.wordpress.com is a really old site of mine that I forgot even existed. I don’t need any of the files or documents from it so everything can be deleted if need be to free up meghanboyd.com for wordpress.
Sure, I’ll need missmeghandesigns to be invited as an administrator to meghanboyd.wordpress.com first. You can do this via Users -> Invite New in the blog’s Dashboard.
Ok all set. Invitation should come through.
I have transferred http://meghanboyd.com/ to meghanboyd.wordpress.com as requested.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
When you go to meghanboyd.com directly, it still redirects to http://missmeghandesigns.wordpress.com/
Is this anything further through wordpress or do I need to update my nameservers again?
Please try clearing your browser’s cache: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
I’m still having weird issues with this.
I have this login- missmeghandesigns, which still logins to meghanboyd.com/wp-admin
My old login to the wordpress.org account doesn’t work for this.
It seems like the wordpress.org is redirecting to wordpress.com dashboard. When I go to meghanboyd.com/wp-admin it automatically redirects to meghanboyd.wordpress.com/wp-admin.
How do I got about getting this sorted out? It’s getting too confusing with the multiple logins and redirects. Any help?
Oh, you want it to direct to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog?
In that case, you’ll need to change the domain’s name servers through your domain registrar to point to your hosting provider.
Oh…yes they are pointing to
Where could I find the correct nameservers for godaddy?
This topic is not correct right?
Right, that’s for directing your domain to your WordPress.com blog.
You’ll need to ask GoDaddy what your hosting account’s name servers are and make those name server changes through your domain registrar.
Alright- thank you for all your help!
