Can’t access Dashboard

    A few months ago I started noticing that occasionally I cannot log into the dashboard, no matter how many times I tried. I verified the username and passoword and tried getting in several different ways. I wrote a note to WP (or perhaps a WP forum) and was advised that the problem is that I was using a very old version of Internet Explorer. I was told that Mozilla Firefox works better, so I installed and used that, but now the same problem is occurring. I tried clearing my cache and cookies, but did not competely reboot.

    It’s very frustrating. Can anyone help?

    I am having the same problem too. My website is Yesterday it was fine, and today I can’t get on my dashboard, and I didn’t do anything yesterday except log in.

    If you are using an up-to-date browser and you’ve already done the “cookie dance” and refreshed and still can’t reach your WordPress.COM Dashboard, I recommend contacting Support directly at Also let them know what browser and AV software/firewall you may be using.

    It’s clear to me that there’s been a lot of work going on at the backend of the Dashboard recently (look at the revised Help section in your Dashboard, if you are able to access it). Personally, I’ve had spotty success accessing in general since about November 14th and it’s been suggested that my firewall software may be the culprit.



    I’ve had tons of problems logging in ever since they changed the login page from the old version. Clearing cookies helped sometimes, not all the time. Support wasn’t able to help me. But, here’s the work around I’ve found that allows me to login everytime. Don’t login on the page, rather, scroll down and click on the FORUMS link. The forums page has a login box in the centre of the page and using this login has always worked for me.



    patience works, I was told that no cookies support me to my account all the time, but I tried and indeed signed in.

    The server works very diligently and gets confused on some occasions, i guess.
