Can’t Add SimplyHire Widget!
One more thing…sites that let you grab widget codes…how many, if any does WordPress support? What is I wanted to add reviews! THANK YOU…Candace
We can’t give you feedback on the code if we don’t know what it is. Paste it here between backticks, which are the key at the very top left-hand side of your keyboard. Then we can look at it.
As for what WordPress.com supports, it supports plain text and images and sometimes other things. You’ve got to go by trial and error mostly. You cannot, however, add any code that is an affiliate or for-profit link. That can get your blog deleted, as it’s against WordPress terms of service.
Bad news. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Anyway, here is the code below. Strange word backticks.
I guess I will have to find blog hosts that allow more widgets…like raising money for charities and being able to fully grow the site if that includes adding adsense, etc. I wanted to also put review stars on some posts. I am going to read terms and condition.
By the way, could you tell me what words to look for in an html that WordPress will strip. That will save tons of time. Have a nice day…

Oh, my…that solves it! Thanks a bunch! I feel sheepish…Good day…Ozrisk and Raincoaster.
We all do at times. No problems – happy blogging.
On the HTML tags that get stripped – it is a bit of a moving feast. Often it will not be a whole tag, but some of the elements within it. I normally just try things out on a second, private, blog that I use as a testbed and then tinker with them to see if I can get good HTML that is both acceptable to the system and does what I want.
The reason why they do it is good – it greatly improves the stability of the system and the low downtime here reflects that. It does ummmm… somewhat annoy us all at times, though. One of the costs of a free platform.
You can raise money for charity, but not if you’re making money from the charity is my understanding.
You can do a search of the forums for Adsense to find out some alternatives if you NEED Adsense.
Actually I’m wondering if Candi is in the right place. I don’t see a blog here with his or her username.
Is your blog hosted here at wp.com? If not and your blog is elsewhere, you need to be over at http://wordpress.org as that’s the site for support of the software. These are the forums for support of the blogs hosted here at wp.com
drmike my address (copy/paste) is: http://philanthropywatch.wordpress.com/
Haven’t done much yet… With the charity, it would have been a World Wildlife Fund or a widget from
Thanks for all your insight…and I hope others benefit from your knowledge as well. If you have any more to add, I would love to hear or read, rather. Have a good evening.
