  I try to register a site neuralytix.wordpress.com, but it says “Sorry, that site already exists!” I’m almost 100% certain that I would have registered this unique name. (Since that is my company).

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  neuralytix.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this site.

  The multiple warnings that deleting a blog URL is permanent and irreversible provided throughout the deletion process say it all. You cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

  You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
