Can't publicize on Facebook page without a profile?
Basically, I created a page on FB, without having a profile. Apparently this isn’t enough to publicize on FB?
So, in a nutshell, my question is: WHY?
Why must I have a profile on Facebook to use this functionality? Is it a technical reason? It doesn’t seem to make sense to me.
RSS Graffiti periodically checks the RSS/Atom feeds that you specify and posts any new entries it finds to the Facebook Walls that you specify.
You can get any feed written on any wall (Facebook Profiles, Fan Pages, Groups, Events and Application Profile Pages). In fact, multiple feeds to multiple walls. You choose the combination.
Also note that The Facebook Like box widget is designed to work with Facebook Pages. > Appearance > Widgets > Facebook like box widget.
Wow. Talk about a useful reply. I’m new to the possibilities of FB so I completely forgot to ask if there’s some other way to mimic this functionality.
Basically, you gave me an excellent answer to the question I should have asked.
I’m not sure how to claim a blog through networkedblogs.com so I think I’ll be sticking with RSS Grafitti – it should suit my purposes just fine.
Out of sheer curiosity now, why does WP have that publicize limitation? It can’t be technical (I don’t think).
hello everybody! I have a similar problem: i have a facebook account and just created my blog page. On the admin page of my dashboard it appears that i succesfully connected to my facebook account choosing my the page not my personal profile.
the problem is that when I publish a new post it doesn’t appears on the facebook page so completely useless! how can i do it?
It appears on your Profile but not your Page? That’s functioning normally. Publicize doesn’t push the posts to your Page on FB, only to your Profile.
Follow TT’s instructions to get your posts on your Page.
