Can't Set Featured Image (Twenty Eleven theme)
Hello – I’m trying to set a different featured image on several different pages of my blog. I can get it to work on three (including the home page), but not on the others. What am I doing wrong?
The blog I need help with is elizabethswildflowerblog.com.
What pages are you trying to add a featured image to? Also, when you try to add the featured image, what happens? Do you receive any type of an error? Is the featured image added, but not showing properly?
Let me know, and I’d be happy to take a look for you.
I’m trying to add images to each of the pages that show under my banner image on the home page. You can see that there’s an image for
https://elizabethswildflowerblog.com/families/, and a different image for https://elizabethswildflowerblog.com/list-of-native-flowering-plants/ ; but all the other pages display the same image as the home page.
When I try to add the featured image, it shows in the featured image box, I press update, I get the message “[checkmark] page updated on Elizabeth’s Wildflower Blog!” And when I go to check, the homepage image is still there, not the image I selected.
This happens in both the old style and new style editors.
I checked the other pages and did not see any featured images attached. What pages in particular did you have trouble with. The theme support page says that the The header image needs to be 1000 by 288 (width, height) – so make sure that the image has those proportions.
Let me know what image you were adding and I will take a look. Thanks!
I was not able to edit the image within WordPress, which is a little annoying, but I was able to re-size it in Lightroom, export it, upload it to the blog, and this time it worked. So I suppose sizing was the problem.
Thanks for all your help!
