Center social media icons within page footer
-
I am slowly, but determinedly, setting up my blog at: http://middlemanburr.wordpress.com
I have social media icons within the blog footer. These automatically align left, but I’d like them aligned to center within the full width page.
I read the support forum for the Promenade theme. A recent post there said to use this CSS code to center icons within the footer:
.widget-area–footer {
text-align: center;
}
}I entered the code and as a result the social media icons moved slightly, but not all the way to the center of the footer space.
Can you help?
Thanks very much!

Hi.
In fact your buttons are centered… but inside a container (called text-3) with a width defined to be 1/3 of the global width and floated to the left. Consequently your buttons are centered in the left hand third of your width. You can avoid that with this little piece of css code:
.widget-area--footer #text-3 { float: none; }
I hope this helps.
