I want to do a menu for my recipe page, so people can link directly to certain categories like cookies, cupcakes, candy, etc. I know how to make a menu, but when you click “cookies” from the drop down it takes you to the full article. Is there a way to have it take readers to a title that they can click to get the full article?

I don’t know if I described this properly, but it makes sense in my head. I have tried to search things on the forums, but I must be doing it wrong because I get things that aren’t even remotely related like facebook boxes. I found some information on summarizing posts and I got that to work, but I’d like to do it even more for the recipe page.

What shows on category, tag and archives pages varies from theme to theme. It was the designer’s decision what they showed. On some themes, the excerpt function will allow you to show a short excerpt on category and archive pages that you define in the excerpt module when writing a post, but connections is not one of the themes that support that.

That was what I was afraid of. Thanks anyways!

The header on your free theme Connections blog looks like it came from this Premium ie. paid Theme Did you get permission from the theme designer to use it?

Category/archive pages: full posts or not

In the majority of themes, posts in category or monthly archive pages show up just as they do in the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails.
