change mapped domain

Hi there, a mapped domain I used to own has expired, and I would like to map a new one to my wordpress site. Is it possible to delete the mapping to paleovirology.org so that I can map a new domain?

The blog I need help with is paleovirology.wordpress.com.

  2. HI there,

Your account does not own any domain mapping upgrades and it's not possible to change the domain on a mapping upgrade. You can only replace it with a new domain mapping upgrade.

If you log in as the username that owns the domain mapping for paleovirology.org, paleovirology, you can add a new mapping upgrade from My Site ->Domains, and then cancel the existing one via the Purchases page as it's still in the refund period.

Make sure you add the new domain mapping BEFORE you cancel the existing one, or you'll be required to purchase a plan to add a new mapping upgrade and we'll have no way to prevent that from happening.

Hi there, thanks for the reply-unfortunately I did not explain well. I no longer own paleovirology.org, yet it is the added mapped domain to my wordpress site-can I cancel this from wordpress, so that I can add a different mapped domain instead?

  4. I know you don't own the domain, paleovirology.org. You also don't own the domain mapping upgrade for that domain, so you can't make any changes to the domain mapping upgrade.

You need to log in as the username, paleovirology, who owns the mapping upgrade, and then follow the steps I gave above to first add a new mapping upgrade, and then cancel the current one.
