Change Menu in Chateau

    I am very new to CSS, and want to make the menu different in Chateau.
    I don’t know what to ask for beyond:
    I’d like it below the header
    I’d like it more visible, like in one of the Twenty Ten, or Twenty Twelve Themes (color? size? tabs? I don’t know)
    Sorry this isn’t clearer. Any help would be much appreciated.

    The blog I need help with is

    @kellyboaz, give this a try as a start. It moves the navigation down below the header image. Add this to the bottom of any custom CSS that you already have.

    #page-inner {
    position: relative;
    #menu {
    position: absolute;
    top: 350px;
    #branding {
    padding-top: 30px;
    #main {
    margin-top: 30px;

    Mimicking the dark background of 2010 or 2011, is more difficult with this theme since it does not have an overall div which contains the menu. If this wasn’t a reactive theme design (changes width with browser window width) it could be done. We can make the text larger and/or bold, and change the color of it if you wish.

    @thesacredpath Thank you so much! I love that you gave me the benefit of “to the bottom of any custom CSS that you already have”. Mine still had the welcome message in it. That moved the menu perfectly.

    I’d love to know how to make the menu text larger, bolder, and darker (black?) too, if you can help.

    The first stuff takes care of the font size and non-hover color. The second part lets you change the hover color, which was already black. It helps users if there is a different hover color on menu tabs. For the font size, just adjust the 100% as you see fit.

    #menu a {
    color: #000000;
    font-size: 100%;
    font-weight: bold;
    #menu a:hover {
    color: #000000;

    Again, thank you so much! I changed the non-hover color to one of my theme colors and left the hover color black. Thanks for all the help!

    You are welcome.
