    hey helpful friends!

looking for a way to change the hover color of background for my “kickstarter menu item”.

I know this question has been beat to death by numerous similar posts but bear with me. I started learning CSS yesterday.

The blog I need help with is noobcampblog.com.

That is not a free hosted WordPress.COM blog and we do not provide support for it. You are posting to the wrong support forums. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click this link http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

I tried to open http://noobcampblog.com/ and it didn’t work. A quick tip to try to help you without being able to see the site: I’d recommend viewing the page source and looking around at the HTML. In WordPress themes, most menus will have a unique ID or class attribute for each menu item, and you can use that to target just one of the items and apply CSS rules to it.

These are some great basic tutorials that will help you along the way if you’re interested:

Once you find the class name to use, you may be able to get help in the volunteer-basted forums at http://wordpress.org/support/ as timethief suggested. Another good place to ask for help is from the theme authors directly.
