Change themes for full page width

  • Hi,
I currently use the Coraline theme.
Very happy with it but want to get a theme that uses the full width of a standard screen.

    So two questions really.
1 – Can this be done with Coraline
2 – If not how difficult is it to change themes without having to build the page up from scratch.
    We have a Premium account.

    Thanks
    Rory

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • the full width of a standard screen

How are you defining that please?

Currently there are 115 Full Width Template WordPress Themes. With these themes, you can create pages without any sidebars.

  • Wow what a quick response
Great and the second part of my question?
How difficult is it to change themes without having to build the page up from scratch.?

    Thanks

  • sorry by full width I really mean a page that takes up the whole page in a browser, the theme I use has a lot of white space either side

  • 1. Coraline is a full width template theme.
    2. There us no such thing as a premium account. We are all free hosted and some of us choose to purchase specific upgrades for specific purposes that must be renewed annually.

How skilled are you at CSS editing? Answer that question and you have your answer to the one you posed. lol :D

  • You can quickly and easily change themes to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if your are changing to a dramatically different theme and have to resize images.

Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears.

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
