Change widget color?
Hello. I recently bought the CSS upgrade, more just to learn it than to make any big changes. But there is one thing I’d like to do and that is to make the widget backgrounds transparent so I have more white space. I’m using Misty (and want to keep it) but the blue sidebar is starting to feel claustrophobic. Is this change possible and if so, could someone point me in the right direction? TIA
In the CSS there is a section called li.sidebox. In there it specifies “background-color: #ededed;”
Try removing that line or commenting it out if you can and see what happens. You might find that it looks real strange with no separation between the main content and the sidebar though.
Thank you. Here’s what I have:
background: url(img/sideheadtop.gif) #ededed no-repeat left top;
I commented out the background line but saw no change. There is no line for background
color that I can find. Is this telling me the blue I’m trying to remove is a gif?
Edited to add: there was a change. That gif is for the feed icons.
in the “background:” line above, delete the “#ededed” to remove the background.
I have to be honest though and say I’m a little confused. When I view the blog I don’t see any blue, only the light grey background. Are we talking about the same thing?
It looks blue to me, but yes we’re talking about the same thing. I’ll try the deletion and report back! Tx again.
Rehi. It did work, but it also removed the feed button graphic (no problem) and my header graphic (problem). I guess I can’t do what I wanted to, but I’ve learned something and that’s never bad. Merci!
Finally all sorted out and I was able to do what I wanted. Thanks!
